What an incredible few days at Desalination Technology Expo 2025 in Valencia.

It was fantastic to meet so many companies from around the world, each bringing their own vision and expertise to the global desalination and water innovation community. We’ve made some truly valuable connections and left inspired by the range of opportunities now on the horizon. A sincere thank you to all the delegates, exhibitors and visitors who took the time to speak with us, learn about the Integro™ technology, and express interest in becoming part of our journey at this early and exciting stage. We also want to extend our gratitude and congratulations to the organisers of Desalination Technology Expo for putting together such an exceptional first-year event. For a debut year, the quality of the organisation, the calibre of the speakers, and the level of engagement from attendees were simply outstanding.

While the show may have been small in scale, its intimate setting created the perfect environment for meaningful discussions, technical exchange and genuine collaboration. We very much hope to see this event return in future years, and we will certainly be back to exhibit again.

The last few days were marked by an amazing experience at Desalination Technology Expo in Valencia! 

It was inspiring to learn from desalination and brine valorization experts and hear about the innovative solutions that are shaping the future of sustainable water resources.

I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to represent Seamoretech at the event and to share this experience alongside Eva Filipa Sousa. Excited for what comes next.

After a good night's sleep, I'm back in my office in Amsterdam! The experience in Desalination Technology Expo in Valencia has been great! It was the first time for me that the key thought leaders and experts for Brine and Desalination, were all gathered in one place! 

It was an amazing two days of intense exchange of invaluable ideas and information that culminated in a great dinner with some eye-opening news about the ongoings in the industry! Two presentations, two panels, and innumerable opportunities to connect with old and new friends! Looking forward to the next event, Andrew Boakes! You got an excellent community to back you up!

Brine Consulting was everywhere in Valencia with some of our key experts providing major insights throughout the first two days! I'm personally thrilled to see to the projects we picked up!

Returning home from sunny and saffron-toned Valencia for Desalination Technology Expo’s first edition. Wonderful to catch up with the global family of water people and celebrate progress and latest developments in brine valorization.

Thanks to the organizing team who welcomed us to Valencia for a unique and focused conference to explore the ways salts and minerals can be de-watered.

As Dr Markus Pfänder, Executive Director at K-UTEC Salt Technologies, said in his presentation on the second day: Is the tipping point in feasible brine mining here and now?

Yesterday I came back home from Desalination Technology Expo at Feria Valencia, exhausted after so many interesting presentations, panels, discussions, and so much science behind the new paradigm in the desalination world, brine valorization.

Alongside companies supplying equipment such as crystalizers (not so usual in regular water treatment until now, but more and more needed in brine valorization), new membranes and ERD projects, there were engineers from all over the globe, not only sharing knowledge about how to purify and recover different salts, but also thinking how to do it at reduced cost, how to promote these salts to be sold, how to involve the end users in the process, and, of course, how to convince the investors to invest money on such big and innovative projects! Also present were my colleagues from the AEDyR board; Silvia Gallego, Belen Gutierrez, Elena De La Vieja, Mari Carmen Garcia and Domingo Zarzo, who were part of a panel discussing 60 years of desalination in Spain and ten certainties ahead.

And the paella for lunch was excellent!

Coming back from the Desalination Technology Expo and Conference in Valencia, where I presented to an audience of experts the performed technical and economic analyses on the integration of a small modular reactor with a reverse osmosis desalination plant.

During these days, I had many interesting talks and chats with colleagues and attendees coming from other experiences and with different backgrounds. Some of the most relevant nuclear companies presented their visions and plans for the integration of SMR with water desalination – thanks to Jose Luis San Vicente, Luis Eduardo DePavia, and William Bizollon for the very interesting and fruitful discussions.
