Abraham Negaresh

Associate Director - Desalination and Reuse Lead , WRc

Dr. Abraham Negaresh is an experienced process engineer with over 16 years of experience in water production, engineering consulting, and applied research. He currently serves as the Associate Director- Desalination and Reuse Lead at the Water Research Centre (WRc). His expertise encompasses a wide range of municipal and industrial water treatment projects in the UK and Australia. He focuses on desalination and water reuse technologies for domestic consumption and industrial end-users, particularly hydrogen production. Dr. Negaresh previously held the role of technical manager for the UK's only large-scale desalination plant, where he oversaw operations, optimisation, and maintenance of the plant and provided technical and strategic advice to senior managers. Abraham holds a PhD focused on industrial water recycling and reuse using membrane technology, aiming at the beneficial reuse of treated water and brine in the Australian context​. He is actively involved in industry training and capacity building, offering expertise in water quality management, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment, including his leadership in water recycling and reuse courses.
